Prosecutors Seek Detention of Three More Defendants in Nanzih Homicide Case

In view of the significant public attention and in the public interest, this Office provides the following information on the homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of September 30, 2026, in the Nanzih area under its jurisdiction.

On October 1, 2026, a prosecutor of this Office applied to the Taiwan Ciaotou District Court to detain defendant Mu ○○ with restrictions on visitation and communication, and the Court granted the application. This Office has since continued its in-depth investigation and arrested defendants Wu ○○, Yeh ○○, and Chen ○○ by warrant. Suspects Lin ○○ and Liu ○○, as well as juvenile Huang ○○ in the same case, voluntarily came forward to give statements.

After questioning, prosecutors determined that Wu ○○, Yeh ○○, and Chen ○○ were strongly suspected of homicide under Article 271, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, among other offenses, with grounds for detention (risks of flight, collusion, and destruction or concealment of evidence) and a necessity for detention. On the evening of October 2, 2026, this Office applied to the Court to detain them with restrictions on visitation and communication.

On the same evening, the Court granted detention with restrictions on visitation and communication for defendant Wu ○○. The Court's rulings on the other two defendants are still pending.

After questioning, prosecutors sent suspects Lin ○○ and Liu ○○ home. The police separately referred juvenile Huang ○○ to the Juvenile Court for investigation and adjudication.
