Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office Investigates Pingtung County Councilor for Alleged Fraud and Other Offenses; Seeks Detention and Prohibition of Visitation
Chief Prosecutor Cheng Tzu-Wei and Prosecutor Lee Kuan-Lin of the Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office directed the Pingtung County Investigation Station of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau to investigate allegations that Pingtung County Councilor Sung ○-Hua, together with Cheng ○-Yu and others, was involved in offenses including money laundering under the Money Laundering Control Act and fraud under the Criminal Code.
On August 12, 2026, the investigation team conducted searches and summoned the defendants and witnesses for questioning. Following questioning by Prosecutors Lee Kuan-Lin and Lin Shih-Hsun, prosecutors determined that defendants Sung ○-Hua and Cheng ○-Yu were strongly suspected of jointly committing fraud, money laundering, and other offenses, and that there were grounds and a necessity for detention.
Prosecutors therefore applied to the court for the detention of the two defendants and prohibition of visitation.
