Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office is investigating alleged illegal activities in the photovoltaic industry. City councilor Kuo and two others released on bail.
On April 22, 2025, Head Prosecutor Chen Chu-Chun, along with Prosecutors Chung Wei-Yi, Yen Wei-Te, and Yang Yi-Yun of this office, directed a joint investigation team consisting of personnel from the Kaohsiung City Investigation Office, Yunlin County Investigation Station, and the Southern Mobile Task Force of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau, executed court-issued search warrants at 15 locations, including an energy company, a construction firm, and the office of a city councilor. Relevant evidence was seized during the searches, and the prosecutors summoned the relevant suspects and witnesses in court for questioning.
After questioning, prosecutors determined that defendants surnamed Guo, Chu, and Chung were all allegedly involved in offenses under the Anti- Corruption Act and other criminal statutes. The prosecutor ordered the release of suspect Guo on bail of NT$300,000, and suspects Chu and Chung were each released on bail of NT$200,000.
The investigation team will continue to pursue the case in accordance with the principles of impartiality and due diligence.
